Esthetician, explorer, and the hands behind every Salt & Rind ritual.
Kimmie found her way to skincare the long way around. Growing up with a birthmark on her face, then developing debilitating psoriasis in high school, she learned early how deeply our relationship with our skin shapes the way we move through the world. Those experiences sparked a lifelong fascination with skin, healing, and the confidence that comes from feeling at home in your own body.
She began her career in 2010 as a licensed hair color specialist, quickly falling in love with cosmetic chemistry and the transformative power of thoughtfully formulated ingredients. In 2015, she became a licensed esthetician, where skincare and sugaring quietly became her life’s work.
After years of owning and operating studios throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and downtown San Diego, Kimmie founded Salt & Rind as a reflection of everything she believes care should be: intentional, unhurried, and deeply personal. Drawing from techniques and traditions gathered from around the world, every treatment is thoughtfully tailored and delivered by hand. Today, she calls La Jolla home, where that vision continues to evolve.
At the heart of Salt & Rind is a simple belief inspired by Galatians 5:13: “Serve one another humbly in love.” More than a verse, it is the quiet foundation behind every treatment, every interaction, and every ritual created within these walls - a reminder that caring for people well is just as important as caring for their skin.
Her Philosophy
Kimmie believes the best skincare doesn’t start at the surface - it starts with how you feel in your own skin. Her role isn’t to fix people, but to understand them, settle the nervous system, and bring out what’s already there. Whether someone comes in for a sculpting facial, a sugaring ritual, or simply a quiet hour to themselves, every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to meet them exactly where they are, leaving them feeling more grounded, more confident, and more like the truest version of themselves.

Every treatment Kimmie offers is thoughtfully tailored in real time, drawing from global facial techniques, years of experience, and a deep understanding of cosmetic chemistry. While each session addresses what the skin needs in the moment, her focus is always on the bigger picture: strengthening the skin barrier, calming the nervous system, and cultivating a lasting, healthy relationship with your skin.

OFF THE CLOCK
When she’s not in the studio, Kimmie can usually be found on a long walk with her dog, wandering the farmers market with her husband on a Sunday morning, or exploring somewhere new. Endlessly curious about longevity and holistic wellness, she’s fascinated by the lifestyles of the world’s healthiest communities - particularly the Blue Zones - and many of those lessons quietly influence the rituals and philosophy behind Salt & Rind. Most often, though, you’ll find her by the coast, where she feels most inspired and is reminded that the best things in life are never rushed.
