How did I get here? Well, is it too early to start at birth?
A little about my skin journey… Growing up with a birthmark on my face and developing debilitating psoriasis in high school, I quickly learned how deeply connected skin is to self-confidence. Dealing with these challenges firsthand has given me compassion and a true understanding of how empowering it can be to feel good in your own skin. My personal experience inspired my passion for skin healing and internal wellness. More on that later ;)
My career began in 2010 as a licensed Hair Color Specialist, where I fell in love with cosmetic chemistry and became obsessed with high-quality ingredients. After all, we wear our skin and hair every day—why not put our best face (or skin) forward, literally? In all my years of experience in the beauty industry, I’ve learned that you truly glow the brightest from within—and that's what I aim to bring out in every one of my clients, through tailored facial experiences and flawless sugaring treatments.
In 2015, I became a licensed esthetician, and that’s when both skincare and sugaring stole my heart, along with all my loyal clients. Over the years, I’ve owned a successful sugaring and facial studio in the SF Bay Area, opened a boutique salon & spa in Downtown San Diego, and sold that to create Salt & Rind—a specialized spa where I could focus on the skincare treatments I truly love. Let’s not forget to mention our Salt & Rind skincare line, a client favorite, which sells off our shelves daily!

Psst… my favorite treatment? I’m sure this one is obvious for my regulars, but dermaplaning never gets old! It remains a go-to treatment after all these years and is a staple in my own regimen. Hello smooth skin and an instant glow!

My name is Amanda, and I am so excited to be a part of your skin journey here at Salt & Rind. My career in beauty began 10 years ago, and I’ve loved every minute of it. I started in makeup, specializing in bridal glam for my first five years. Complexion was everything to me—so much so that I would curate skincare regimens for brides who wanted to achieve that flawless glass skin on their wedding days. Seeing their glow radiate on such a special day was always one of my career highlights, and I’ll forever treasure those moments!
From there, I moved into an educational role with an organic skincare company. My primary focus was training staff on skincare ingredients and how to properly use products. During this time, I became a total ingredient guru—learning the ins and outs of almost every top skincare brand out there. I love diving into formulations and helping clients navigate the best products for their skin. Trust me, if it’s on the shelf, I probably know all about it! This experience majorly expanded my skincare expertise and taught me how to combine the very best products with the most effective treatments.
As much as I enjoyed training and educating, I truly missed hands-on skincare treatments and building one-on-one connections with clients. That’s what brings me here to you at Salt & Rind! After training with Kimmie on specialized treatments and swapping all the skincare tips and tricks, I’m thrilled to be back in the treatment room. Whether we’re diving into a relaxing facial or smoothing the skin with a leg sugaring session, nothing makes me happier than helping you feel radiant and refreshed.
I thrive in high-energy services like sugaring, where we can chat, laugh, and enjoy some quality girl time while getting your skin smooth and glowing. But I also adore the calm, soothing atmosphere of facial treatments, where I can focus on nurturing your skin and giving you that luxurious, glowing complexion. Plus, I’m always excited to share my product knowledge and help you fine-tune your skincare routine with the best ingredients for your skin type!
When it comes to skincare, my absolute favorite service is leg sugaring, and I’m obsessed with full-body brightening treatments. Nothing gets me more excited than getting my clients on an AHA scrub to give your skin that radiant, all-over glow!
